All programs and camps are instructional in nature and place an emphasis on learning proper fundamentals in a fun, encouraging way.  Click below to read about the details and structure of each program. Ask us if you are interested in a sport that is not listed.

Soccer

Rookie Sports Club leads an age appropriate program that utilizes fun games and activities to teach the fundamentals to beginning soccer players. Coaches focus on teaching the basics of dribbling, passing, scoring, and the concept of game play. Proper sportsmanship is emphasized in a positive and encouraging atmosphere enabling children to enjoy learning soccer while also have fun being physically active. Each week will include both developmentally appropriate instruction as well as recreational, non-competitive game play.

Get ready for the Rookies to join the Minor League! This exciting youth soccer program is great for payers of all abilities. Creating a relaxed atmosphere to promote fun and learning, players will participate in games that help develop the fundamentals of soccer. Additionally, participants will play a recreational scrimmage each week. Coaches will emphasize proper sportsmanship and teamwork in order to create a positive, active, soccer experience for older children.

Basketball

Little Rookies Basketball provides children with a fun and educational first basketball experience! Players are taught the fundamentals of dribbling, shooting, passing, rebounding, defense, and the concept of game play. The curriculum incorporates teaching styles that help this age group build an understanding of the skills that are taught by utilizing fun terminology and engaging activities. A positive and encouraging atmosphere is created in which kids learn proper sportsmanship.  Each week players participate in developmentally appropriate instruction and modified, recreational game play.
Rookie Basketball provides children with a fun and educational basketball experience! Players are taught the fundamentals of dribbling, shooting, passing, rebounding, defense, and game play. This program furthers the development of each skill by providing appropriate progressions to challenge participants while still building their confidence. A positive and encouraging atmosphere is created in which kids learn proper sportsmanship and demonstrate respectful behavior.  Each week players participate in developmentally appropriate instruction and recreational, modified game play.
Rookies are moving up to the Minor League! This highly active basketball program for older children will help skill development and promote physical activity. Players will participate in games and drills that focus on improving the fundamentals of each skill. The program will also include non-competitive scrimmages that are facilitated by the coaches. Staff will allow the children to play but also stop the game when teachable moments happen to help players learn different components of the game. With an emphasis on fun and physical activity, participants are sure to have a great basketball experience that includes both instruction and plenty of game play!b

Baseball

Little Rookies T-Ball is a great introduction to the game of baseball for young children. Using age appropriate activities, players will be introduced to fundamentals of baseball in an atmosphere that is supportive, fun, and prevents children from feeling pressured. Each week the program will include an instructional portion that will introduce players to batting, base running, fielding, throwing, and catching. A modified game will also be played each week. Parent participation is strongly encouraged to allow the program to run smoother. The Rookie Sports Club T-Ball Program will provide your child with a fun and positive baseball experience that will help build self-esteem and nurture their excitement for physical activity and continuing participating in sports
The Rookies are coming to the Minor League! This program is a great introduction to coach-pitch baseball for beginning baseball players. The instructional portion of the program utilizes developmentally appropriate drills with modifications and/or progressions implemented when necessary, helping every child improve their baseball skills despite their current abilities. Skills taught will include batting, fielding, throwing, and catching. The program will also include a modified, non-competitive game each week. As weeks progress, new aspects of the game/game scenarios will be added to allow children to learn within the context of the game. Children will be able to use a Tee during the game if they are having difficulty hitting a pitched ball. Parent Participation is welcomed in this program. All Coaches will emphasize and demonstrate the importance of great sportsmanship and create an encouraging and positive atmosphere that helps players build self-esteem and ensures all children have that great baseball experience to foster their excitement for physical activity and continuation of participation in sports!
The Rookies are moving up the Major League! In this fun baseball program, children will continue learning the game of baseball through more advanced game scenarios. Players will engage in a non-competitive game for a majority of the program. During the game, coaches will stop and explain to players in the outfield where they should throw the ball. As weeks progress, the concept of strikes and outs will be introduced while still maintaining a positive atmosphere that emphasizes encouragement regardless of the outcome of each play. Coaches will make sure to capitalize on teachable moments and eliminate any negative attitudes towards advanced game concepts.

Day Camps

Come have a ball with Rookie Sports Club this summer! Each week focuses on a different sport or theme. For sport specific camps, fun drills and games are used to teach campers the basic skills pertinent to each sport. There will also be recreational tournaments during the week and a culminating championship or event. Campers are grouped by age for game play. Whether your camper is a complete novice or experienced in the specific sport, our coaches will help build their self-esteem by developing their abilities with encouraging feedback and a strong emphasis on sportsmanship. In addition to the specific sport or theme of the week, campers will also engage in many other fun activities. The camp curriculums include traditional camp games and fun gym games that campers love! Depending on the facility, camps may also include swimming, walks to community parks, hiking trails, and more! Rookie Sports Club’s summer camps provide a physically and emotionally safe environment that will ensure each camper has a great time while simultaneously being physically active and will leave ready for a long night of sleep!
Young campers will have a Ball at the Junior Sports Camp! Each day will focus on a different sport including soccer, basketball, football, hockey, track and field, and more! Campers will engage in age appropriate activities each day that will help them learn the fundamentals and rules of each specific sport. Staff will ensure campers are participating in a well-supervised environment that creates positive, social interactions and emphasizes the importance of sportsmanship. Each child will also receive continuous encouragement that will help build self-esteem and enjoy the camp activities regardless of individual skill ability. Campers will also play exciting running/group games throughout the week. The Junior Multi-Sports Camp is a highly active camp designed for younger children to have a great time being physically active while simultaneously learning about different sports. Campers will leave excited about new skills they have learned each day and will absolutely be ready for their afternoon nap!
Rookie Sports Club offers day camps on your day off of school! We run the camps during Winter Break, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, and Spring Break. Throughout the camp day, children will engage in different sports and fun gym games to promote an active and exciting day off from school!

Flag Football

With a strong emphasis on safety, the Little Rookies and Rookie Flag Football Programs introduce players to the fundamentals of football using fun games and drills that are appropriate for this age group. Athletes will practice running the ball, pass routes, catching, throwing, blocking and concepts during game play. In addition to the instructional activities, each week will include a modified game. Game play incorporates an equal amount of playing time and children will have a chance to play. Parent help is encouraged for our football programs. Adults will serve as the quarterback during game play and will be sure to emphasize sportsmanship and demonstrate positive attitudes for the rookie athletes.

Lacrosse

Come out and learn the exciting game of lacrosse in the Rookie Sports Club Lacrosse Program! Children will be split by age group in this recreational program, designed to introduce the basic skills and help players understand the rules and style of the game. Coaches will use fun games to teach participants the fundamentals including scooping ground balls, throwing, catching, cradling, shooting, and defending. Each week will include a practice portion to help skill development as well as modified, non-competitive game. Checking will not be allowed and there will be zero physical contact. Face goggles, helmets, and pads will not be necessary.
Coaches will explain there are slight differences in competitive girls lacrosse and boys lacrosse. However all basic skills are taught the same except coaches will teach the difference in cradling.
Boys sticks and softer lacrosse balls will be used for this program. Children are welcome to bring their own sticks if they would like. However, boys sticks are actually very helpful for all beginning players. It allows a higher success rate for skills, especially catching (girls lacrosse stick have a more shallow pocket which makes catching more challenging especially with a lighter ball).

Junior Multi-Sports Class

Children have a blast in this highly active class that incorporates a new sport each week! Children have the opportunity to play soccer, hockey, football, track & field, basketball, and t-ball. Additionally, children will play fun running games in a safe environment that promotes positive social interactions. Coaches also are very patient and encouraging in order to create a great experience for all children.

Volleyball

Have a great time learning the sport of volleyball in the Rookie Sports Club Volleyball Program! Throughout the duration of the program, participants will learn a wide variety of skills including passing, setting, blocking, and serving. Older players will also work on spiking. Each week will include small sided, modified games that help players learn spacing on the volleyball court, communication with teammates, and moving to the ball. The positive atmosphere makes for a fun learning experience catered to all skill abilities!
